Advisory Bodies
One of FGIPC’s advisory bodies is its Industry Advisory Council (IAC). Established by FGIPC leadership in 1990, the IAC’s purpose is to provide an arena for facilitated networking between the public and private IT sectors. Often it is through government-industry partnerships, and coordinated efforts between the public and private sectors and the most comprehensive IT solutions are born.

The other FGIPC advisory body is its Intergovernmental Advisory Board (IAB). The IAB was established in 1997 following an independent Strategic Review of FGIPC, for the purpose of fostering communications, problem-solving and networking between IT professionals at all levels of the public sector — Federal, state, and local governments. It is through intergovernmental endeavors that the citizens of this country will be served most effectively in the coming millennium.

Both the IAC and the IAB are part of FGIPC’s corporate and legal structure. The 15 FGIPC member councils are financially and legally autonomous.
